Stalin's Return


After Stalin returned back to St. Petersburg he elected Vyacheslav Molotov and Alexander Shlyapnikov as the editors of Pravda. He also took position as a supporter of Alexander Krensky's provisional government. After Lenin prevailed Stalin helped him overthrow the provisional government that he used to support at that time. He also made the cult of personality with Lenin.

Stalin's Career Before Politics


Stalin made his own career in journalism after he came back from Siberia. He came to St.Petersburg and made his newspaper called Pravda ("The Truth" in Russian). He wrote about political issues and things that the government kept confidential. During those days he changed his name to Stalin (Of Steel). He was exiled 6 more times to Siberia after that the sixth being his last time.

Stalin's Scholarship


Stalin got a scholarship to a Georgian Orthodox Seminary at the age of sixteen. He did well in that school and was a powerful thinker but he had his own views on things. He rebelled against imperialism and religious order. Although he did pretty well on those things he was expelled in 1899 after he missed his final exams. The seminary suggests that he was unable to pay his tuition fees.

Stalin's Birth Place


Joeseph Stalin was born in Gori, Gerorgia a little town in the country of Georgia. Georgia used to be in the Soviet Union at that time and it was considered a part of Russia at that time. Russia was not a country at that time. Russia used to be called The Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was an organization of countries merged into one. Stalin was born to a cobbler in Gori. He was contracted with smallpox at the age of 7 and the scarred his face.
